美前眾議員談平權 羨慕台灣4成立委是女性
（中央社記者陳俊華台北11日電）美國前眾議員派翠西亞‧施若德今天表示，台灣在兩性平權方面有長足的進展，她滿羨慕台灣有約4成的國會議員是女性，美國也有越來越多女性參與政治。
民主進步黨立委尤美女、周春米、余宛如及立法院跨黨派國際人權促進會、美國在台協會（AIT）等，今天在立法院舉辦「兩性真的平等了嗎？長路漫漫的女性平權」講座，邀請派翠西亞‧施若德（Patricia Schroeder）專題演講。
派翠西亞‧施若德是美國著名女性政治人物，也是民主黨黨員，為科羅拉多州透過選舉當選的第一位女性眾議員，她在1973年到1997年擔任眾議員的24年任內，大力支持女性平權法案，包括女性健保、離婚女性的子女撫養權、社會安全福利的擴充，和職場性別平等議題，也是平權修正案（Equal Rights Amendment, ERA）的支持者。
派翠西亞‧施若德表示，她是眾議院軍事委員會的第一位女性委員，當時的軍事委員會主席對這件事非常不高興，主席也不喜歡另一位與她同期，來自加州的非裔美國人男委員；當她第一次出席聽證會時，主席還要她與這名非裔男委員「只能坐一個位子」，從那時她就開始思考如何爭取女性相關權益。
派翠西亞‧施若德說，一個國家最寶貴的資源，就是下一代的孩子，但很多時候「照顧小孩」的工作，卻是薪水最低的，「這件事也非常弔詭」。在美國有一項調查，男性一生中的平均薪資跟女性相較，若男性賺一美元的話，女性只有賺49美分而已，薪資較男性低。
派翠西亞‧施若德表示，一旦發生什麼緊急狀況，譬如說家裡有急事需要處理時，女性通常要馬上放下工作去照顧家裡的人。看到這樣的研究成果，對她就像是「當頭棒喝」，女性要照顧家庭成員，但薪資卻不像男性有相同水準。
對於台灣有約4成的國會議員是女性，派翠西亞‧施若德說，她滿羨慕台灣的情況，因為台灣在兩性平權方面有長足的進展，2016年美國前國務卿希拉蕊．柯林頓（Hillary Clinton）競選美國總統失利後，起初她有點擔心這會對女性有點氣餒，可能不再參政，但後來發現大家轉為比較「憤怒」的情緒，會走上街頭、出來競選公職，看到這波「粉色浪潮」，越來越多女性參選人參與政治，「（美國）會努力趕上台灣的腳步」。（編輯：林興盟）1071211
